    Hi,

I am new to the forum and using a laptop. when i browse through few websites i came across few options. But am not sure whats the diff.

What is the difference between TFT and TFT truelife?
If i opt for a 6 cell battery, can i upgrade it to 9 cell battery later?

    Thanks for ur time.

    msj.

TFT means "thin film transistor" since 2004 all but the cheapest LCD screens use this (LED maybe not don't know right now). "TrueLife" I believe is DeLL's "label/brand" it just means glossy vs matte screen. If you see a term like "active matrix" when talking about screens, they all are. LED is the only new one I can think of that means much. It costs more uses less power and allows screen to be thinner. At this point it also limits your resolution.

Yes 6 cell and 9 cell fit in the same compartment.

As already explained, the truelife screen is glossy. The image tends to have slightly better contrast and richer colours compared with a matte screen (the anti-reflective layer also reduces the image quality slightly), but you have the risk of annoying reflections. If you have control over where you sit, with no lights or windows behind you, then truelife may be worthwhile.
