My brother dropped his Toshiba Satellite L305-S5875 and I am about to start looking for a cheap aftermarket or used screen for him to replace his that is cracked and spider webbed.

My question is I was going to hook up one of my unused CRT Flat screens or LCD's to his VGA port so he could use it until he orders a new one and I put it in. So should we unhook power (& video maybe) going to the laptop screen before we turn it back on due to the cracks. I was worried it might damage something with the screen broke but I do not have clue if it would or not.

Thanks a ton to anyone who answers, greatly appreciated!
