i just received my first ssd and did a clean install of windows 7 home premium on my sager 8170. after waiting around for the samsung 830, i decided in the end on the new plextor 128gb m2p since it was (last week anyways) about $30 cheaper than the comparable samsung 830 at newegg (by the way, it shipped with an OEM Acronis, which was a bummer since i fell for a combo deal with the retail version of Acronis). anyways, just did a crystal disk mark on it, and thought others might be interested (although there are at least a couple of reviews on it, e.g.,

and one in dutch that phil gave a link to in another thread.). not sure if i should be impressed with the benchmark results or not. not sure if it can be further tweaked (i did no tweaks for the results shown) for improvements.

Edit: Boot time from Event Viewer ranges from 16 to 19 secs.

    Performance looks fine. Enjoy.

PS. If you want to do more benchmarking consider using 3x 100MB, as 5x 1000 MB causes more wear.

just did a run with anvil storage for those interested. in between, i installed the latest intel rapid storage driver, but i don't think it made any significant impact; the results seem to be comparable with those of the crystal mark run.

edited to enlarge the image before uploading so that that details of write results can be seen.

    Thx for the screenie.
You should enlarge the window of Anvil Benchmark before taking the screenshot to make the detailed write scores visible.
