This is my next SSD for shure. It have the reliable Marvell controller too! Faster than Intel 520 but without that Sandforce controller

    Read and enjoy

No comments? I was seriously amazed by its performance. Its right where the newest Sandforce SSDs is performance wise but without the sandforce unreliability. Plus it beats every SSD in power management. :)

Hm, it's like a Samsung 830 with better power consumption and crappier software.

I would be using one of those right now (or a 830) if it wasn't for the fact that the M4 is ridiculously cheap compared to the M3 in Canada.

Except its faster. Whats not to like :)

Yeah the M4 is super cheap right now. Only around $200 for 256GB (under $1/GB). Plextor costs around $100 more

Looks nice but I expect Samsung, Intel and Crucial to continue raising the bar. Price/performance will always be the main consideration for most.

crucial m4 current has the best price for value atm, and if the m3 is ~100 more expensive than the m4 then i would rather get samsung 830 :/

    Samsung 830 cost $275. M3 cost only $25 more :)

    Not in The Netherlands....
    Samsung 830 256GB € 165
    Crucial M4 256GB € 186
    Plextor M3 256GB € 245
    Plextor M2 Pro 256GB € 279
    Plextor M3 Pro 256GB € 286
So (for The Netherlands and maybe the rest of Europe) I would go for the Samsung 830.

Unless anyone can say they feel that M3pro is faster irl than a m4/830, I see no reason to pay the premium other than just because.

Same can be said about just any SSD. Personally I need the fastest drive out there, but and a big BUT, it needs to be reliable.

So since money is no option for me, I would buy the Plextor before the 830 anytime of the week since it is faster (benchmark) and it use less power.

But then again I totally understand other people that do not care about benchmarks and is looking for the best bang for the buck. Then the 830 is a good choice for people living outside of US. $25 more is not anything I would grin on my face for :)

The Anandtech review you linked puts it at the pretty much the same speed as the 830. I could see this SSD getting more popular if it drops into the $200-$210 range like the M3 did.
