    Hi.

I have seen one of these for sale for £161 delivered on ebay, it`s supposed to have had little use, and sells for approx £350 new, the seller has 100% feedback with over 600 sales.

My only other SSD i have owned was an Samsung 830 256GB

Is Plextor a reliable brand for SSD`s

    Thanks

    John.

yes ,Plextor is on same level with Samsung,Intel and Crucial. But if you need it for laptop then I suggest going with new Samsung EVO because it has crazy low power consumption.
    Taken from hardware.fr
SSD - Les taux de retour des composants (8) - HardWare.fr
    - Samsung 0.05% (against 0.48%)
    - Plextor 0.16% (N / A)
    - Intel 0.37% (against 0.45%)
    - Crucial 1.12% (against 1.11%)
    - Corsair 1.61% (against 1.05%)
    - OCZ 6.64%

Yes you right ,840 Basic is the one that has advantage over Plextor in power consumption:

Plextor is a highly reliable SSD brand. I've been using Plextor for 2 years now. I've done many benchmarks with their Pro series drives and they consistently are in the top 5 best SSD's you can buy.
