Was planning on getting a 128GB SSD but then saw a really good deal on the Plextor PX-256M3 256GB SSD and wondered if it is any good?

The specs look good and it has the Marvel controller, but is it reliable and fast?

    Thanks for the help!

Thanks, tried search this forum and of course, it returned 0 threads/posts.

Didn't think of using Google(don't use bing) to search for the SSD and this forum. Good Idea!

direct clicking on link gives me 404 error. Searching for site: http://forum.notebookreview.com/solid-state-drives-ssds-flash-storage/Solid State Drives (SSDs) and Flash Storage/ Plextor gives me no results found. Searching for notebookreview.com and Plexor gives me lots of links to the SSD subforum but no specific threads.

Thanks that does sound like a good deal. Hopefully an owner will weigh in, I need to upgrade my 80 GIG SSD and that sounds like a good option! IS your laptop SATA III capable ?
Yeah, google or bing can be used, site:forum name/ search terms

One just sold in the marketplace. From what I read and saw of the NBR user:s benchmarks the 256GB flavour performs very well. Almost on par with the Intel 510 and better than the C300 with whom it shares much architecture. I would have taken it lol but was too slow.

I read however the 128GB version has 68% slower seq writes than the 256GB one so skip the smaller capacities.
