    Hello guys,
    I've found my pll in my Acer Aspire 5530g (it's slg8sp626v) but can't find any datasheet in internet so abo can't help me with setfsb. Any ideas what can I do to get any OC of my RM-70 (heard it can go 2@2,5 without voltage change).
    Don.

    For me if I can't find the data sheet for a chip, it usually means I didn't read it correctly. The writing can be very tiny, not perfect, or worn so it can be very difficult to read it correctly.

    Can you take an image of the chip?
    Is it made by Cypress?, Winfast?, Relatek?, ST?

    That would be helpful information.
    You can always check the manufacturers site for information. It is a bit hard to find, but I know Cypress has all of the datasheets for there PDF's online.

    in the OP he said it's SLG*** so that means it's silego.

    Don't worry about the datasheet, you can just use a simmilar one.

    I'll help you out.
    First do this for me:
    1. open setfsb
    2. select a simmilar PLL in setfsb.
    3. click on the diagnosis tab.
    4. click getfsb.
    5. upload a screenshot for me.

    He gave that link in the third post. Te problem is that they don't have a data sheet for that chip.

    sorry.

    You dont need the exact datasheet.

    Most of the important pins and registers are the same on every PLL.

    When he uploads a screenshot for me I will give further instructions.

    Also, I would like a description of what happens when he tries other similar PLLs in setfsb.

    Does the system lock up?
    Or do the clocks just stay the same?

    He probably has TME mode enabled meaning no software overclocking (without a pin mod first), but I cant be sure until I see the screenshot.

    I'm going to suggest using the datasheet for SLG8LP622.

    wow those AMD PLLs are great.

    They have RW bytes.

    Meaning overclocking is easy without a pin mod.

    Just look at Control Register 3.
    bits 4 to 0.

    look at table 1 for the correct values.

    Ok i have taken some screen...
    So you say that amd pll is really easy to OC?

    Sorry for late reply-> work :(

    About setfsb....Strange-sometimes lock up, sometimes bsod, sometimes no change in mhz. I dont know what it depends on...

    Setfsb must be doing something wrong/bad.

    How about trying to manually change the bytes.

    change control register (byte) 3 from C7 to CA.

    That should overclock from 164.2 to 178.08.

    The problem is, it read wrong clocks. My clocks are 200/400 and setfsb reads 164/337

    No change in clocks. I tried other values, but still no change.

    update: there was change-> BSOD.

    But does the clock speed change?

    Also, do you change the byte then press update and apply?

    Dont press setfsb.

    No, speed doesn't change. yes i do update and apply. I did it once again, and look up if it will cause another BSOD. I have no idea why it is sometimes causing bsod, and sometimes not.

    your control register for PLL1 is not where it is in other PLLs.

    You really need your datasheet.

    I give up for today, maybe tomorrow I will have another idea.

    Did you try sending an email to silego?

    Tell them the truth, that you just want to overclock.

    I remember one forum member did that, they were told to pay $50 for the datasheet.

    One thing you can try is trial and error, where you change different bits and watch the frequency. I can tell you what the most likely bits to try are, but I dont think it's a good idea. It could cause damage.

    Are you overclocking your graphics?
    Because you can actually do that too with setfsb if you get the PLL datasheet. that is why I asked about what graphics you had.

    I dont know if I am bumping this post up or not, cause i just found this while searchin google... But from the looks of it, he has the exact same chip as mine, only i couldnt find mine either, so with the help of a couple helpfull people at another forum, i found out that the only way i could OC my laptop in setfsb was to use the motherboard SLG8LP625T and it worked, although it will only let you OC to 1800mhz it will do the trick as, after i OC'ed the windows rating index for the Laptop actually increased from 3.0>3.2. So like I said dont flame me if i am bumping this thread it will be by accident but, I hope this works for you.

    Scape02, will you Use SetFSB->Click Diagnosis->Chose SLG8LP625T in the Clock Generator field-> Check Ultra->Click GetFSB->Click Capture

    Then, Use SetFSB->Click Diagnosis->Chose SLG8LP625T in the Clock Generator field-> Check Ultra->Click GetFSB->Move the Slider for 1800Mhz->Click SetFSB->Click Capture

    And Upload the BMP's in the /setfsb_2_2_130_96/capture/ Folder.

    Thanks

    Look at these three, down where is says PLL Control Registers --Byte Count--

    The data @03h

    C7=164.21Mhz FSB
    CF=200.01Mhz FSB
    D1=Should be 206.3Mhz FSB

    So, we can see that this has changed from the SLG*622v DataSheet.

    If we convert the Hex to Binary

    C7 = 1100 0111 (Ok the Last 2bits Read Right<-Left C = 1100 = 2Load

    The Bit that has changed:

    D1 = 110 10001 This bit should be the Last Bit of:
    PLL 1 (CPU) Frequency Select Table

    So they have shifted this:

    D1 = 160.18 Mhz FSB

    All that can be done is Click the DATA@03h and Change the BITS in the BIN Field to see:

    Maybe 11 10 0001 Click Update->Click Apply

    I did some things on thi 03 bit, and I get to a Conclusion:
    What, if this pll must be activated? Slg8lp622 in this datasheet there is byte called:
    Spread Spectrum Enable. It is control register 0, bit 0. In my it is always 1, but what if I will give it to 0?
    It will give me no changes. Maybe It is located in other bit?

    My control register looks like: (Viewed by both SefFSB and RW-Everything)
    76543210
    0. 00011101
    1. 01111111
    2. 00111111
    3. 11000111
    4. 11110111
    5. 00000000

    and more up to 23

    It's not going to help much changing the spread spectrum bit to 0. Though your FSB will be increased by 0.5% or more depending on the amount of downspread you currently have.
