    I bought a dv1000 off ebay for a freind recently. Well it came in the mail today i turned it on it worked good i cleaned out all the vents and such and installed windows. Well the battery wont charge it just says " Plugged in not charging " or it will say " Plugged in charging " but it wont charge. Any idea's other then replacing the whole motherboard?

    What is the charge level when not charging? If you run the battery down will it charge?

    the battery is at 0% since i got it and when you unplug the laptop it dies

    Then it sounds like you need to get a replacement batt. from ebay or something.
