On a 15.4 in screen, I probably wouldn't notice too much of a difference in clarity between WSXGA+ and WUXGA when watching movies and gaming (the main reasons for having an amazing screen). I say save your money and go with WSXGA+!

WSXGA+ 1680x1050 Is even too much for me. I know you guys might not agree but everything seems too small for me.

I'd settle for 1400x900 and if anyone here knows where I could get a nice one for my M860ETU please pm so I don't hijack the thread :)

I'd go with WUXGA, I like for my laptop to have less limits.

I guess I understand what you mean. Let take Sager N8862 as an example, which one do you think is better between WSXGA+ "Glare Type" Super Clear Ultra Bright Glossy Screen and WUXGA "Matte Type" Super Clear Ultra Bright Screen for a 15.4'' screen?

I have a 15.4" WSXGA+ Dell (or at least it has a native res of 1680x1050). I'm getting a new laptop (either Dell Latitude or Lenovo ThinkPad), and am trying to decide between getting another WSXGA+ or getting WUXGA (It doesn't appear that Dell offers any WSXGA+ screens, so if I go with that it would be Lenovo). I would LOVE the added real estate, and I don't find my current screen too small, or even close to it. Plus, I know i can increase the DPI.

Does anyone know what DPI I can use on my current laptop to "simulate" a WUSXGA font size? I figure it either has to be 87% (the ratio of linear pixels, either vertical or horizontal) or 77% (the ratio of total pixels), but I don't understand the DPI settings well enough to know for sure. It seems like the linear number would be right if the "I" stands for "inch," but then the whole thing would be totally counter-intuitive because I would expect the font to appear smaller on the screen if you increased dots per inch. Maybe I'm ignorant.

On a separate note, does anyone know how the quality compares on the Lenovo ThinkPad W500 WSXGA+ screen vs. WUXGA? Does the T500 use the same WSXGA+?
