    Hello all,

I was recently given a Toshiba Satellite L675 for the holiday season. I'm decently satisfied with it all around, it does way more than what I need it to do (Then again, so did my Samsung N120). My only gripe about it is that the keyboard SUCKS.

It's terrible, the keys have no tactility, they need to depress about twice as far as any other laptop I have used. Not to mention the input double-bounces about every 200 or so characters.

It's extremely frustrating and puts me off using the laptop for anything.

Is there any way I can replace the standard keyboard with something not as ty? Fail that, what mods can I do to make the keys more tactile?

    Thank you,
    LHoT10820

    I doubt it.

If you give me the model part number I can look it up but usually you only get 1-2 keyboard choices. Newer keyboards I find are worse than older.

Another option, although it will significantly reduce the mobility of the notebook, is to get an external keyboard.

Some of those USB keyboards aren't any better than the notebook ones. ;)

Well, yes, but at least you have the option of another keyboard even if there isn't another manufacturer keyboard for your specific model.

How would I go about finding the model number, is there any way to go about it without disassembling the notebook?

It should be like this format:

    PSK2CU-06801U

    Not Satellite A305-S1029

There's a sticker on the bottom of the laptop (if it isn't worn away, common problem with Toshibas). Also the model part number is on the box if you still have it.
