    Portable Hard Drive

    I know this isn't terribly related to laptops, I just don't know where else to ask.

    I purchased a Western Digital "passport" aka portable hard drive. I hooked it up to a Mac (OS 9) and made the mistake of letting it partition the device.

    Now my Vista running laptop doesn't even see it when I plug it in. Any ideas?

    i suggest u reopen mac osx and either erase or format the hard drive to a windows compatible type eg fat32

    Re-format in windows and you should be fine.

    Change/format the file system to FAT32 as listed above as both the Mac OS and Windows will be able to read and write to it.
