I want to get an asus g50vm x1 from best buy. I also want to upgrade its processor so it runs faster and uses less energy.
Any suggestions for possible processor upgrades?
p.s. i need at least 2.2 ghz to play games

what is the gpu in that? if its anything lower than the 9650m GT, there will be no point in upgrading as it will not really yield any more power in gaming

edit 9700m GT eh, im not sure how that scales up, i think it has 128bit bus though, so I would hold off on the CPU upgrade for a bit.

This is what I found on ASUS's site. (Correct ??)

T9600/T9400/P8600/P8400/P7350 - you can install any CPU, all are supported.

that looks to be it, actually at that res, a CPU upgrade might be a good idea, at lower resolutions a more powerful CPU can help FPS in games.
