    Possible to transfer sound through this wire?

    Is is possible to transfer both video AND sound through a DVI (computer) To HDMI (tv) Wire.

    MEaning its a DVI to HDMI converter.

    there is no sound in dvi.

    You would need a converter box that takes the sound (SPDIF and DVI) and converts it to HDMI. They run about $250 US.

    Its the DVI interface that doesnt carry sound.

    In "theory" you can run sound thru DVI if you changed the interface mechanics to send/receive sound.

    For the sake of real life tho Wu Jen posted the fix, the take a dvi video signal, and a sound signal from a seperate feed and put them together into hdmi.
