So I was running dual displays with a 19" monitor and the laptop screen beside it. However, limited desk space made me feel cluttered. Now I put the laptop in the keyboard tray in my desk and have everything plugged into it from there, as well as my monitor. Now I really want to buy another identical monitor and place it beside the one I have now but the VGA cable is a little too wide and hit the hdmi cable thats plugged into the external monitor. Is there some sort of "slim" VGA cable out there for this type of purpose? Here is a pic to explain:

EDIT* By the way, the laptop screen is closed when in use as it is tucked away in the keyboard tray if anyone was wondering.

You can look for the cheap VGA cables - they're usually slimmer - but I think you may be asking too much of your system - how current is it? Will it even run two external monitors?

There's quite a bit of excess plastic on both VGA and HDMI cables. Heck, I've shaved down an hmdi to nearly nothing so that I could fit through a very small slot I dremeled in the back of my NES PC to reach the GPU's HDMI-out port. If you're not afraid to cut through the metal, you could probably do with cutting off the entire right screw assembly.
