    Possible to wire 12v laptop fan to Desktop fan controller?

    I am curious if its possible to rewire (if needed) to work with a desktop 4 pin connector? If anyone knows the layout for the fan I can probably figure out the desktop pin out side as thats standardized.

    The laptop fan is 12v 0.45a

    Given the colours are pretty standard, red is +DC, black is gnd, yellow is rpm sense (sent from fan), blue is pwm

    Whether the pwm signal range of the fan works nicely with the fan controller is the question.

    I had no idea the color coding was standardized as well, my Rangers fan cables are all black, though they are aftermarket.

    I want to knock out a bunch of modding on the Turkey Day holiday so this info has been most welcomed!

    Fan is actually 12v / 0.6a though, not sure if that matters too much (not an electrician)

    Now I just gotta desolder the heatsinks I have for their parts and get to overhaulin
