The general consensus of SSDs from the point of view of us notebook users these days is of course the M4 with its great random performance and increased sequential performance after the 0009 firmware update. Not to mention the often overlooked and underrated Samsung 830 which is a great drive and beats the M4 in some aspects.
With CES around the corner, here are two new drives that definitely look promising:

Both are Marvell controlled so we can predict decent random 4k and uncompressable performance. What really interests me is that the write speeds are claimed to be 440Mb/s for the 256GB versions. Although not up there with Sandforce, still very good on paper. This beats the offerings from Crucial, Samsung and Intel who all use similar controllers. I'm looking forward to either of these drives.
The only downside is that this is Orico's first venture into SSD land so we shall see how it lives up to everything.
