Hi, maybe the title is not all i mean, but couldnt finad any better :D

The thing is that im ordering a PowerPro R 11:36 fromo powernotebooks, they are offering now the option to upgrade the drives to SSD, and they are putting Vertex 2 SSD, y have read many review telling this drives are not to reliable... But maybe it was just something from the past or who knows....

Do you think is worth buy that SSD with the laptop, or order a normal drive and wait for new SSDs to come later this year maybe??? I would preciate any advice, i would be getting the SSD Vertex 2 120Gb and a 7200 rpm 750gb hard drive, dont know if this config is worth it though, maybe just a HDD would be enough...

My laptop will be used to game, to code, play media, and surf the web :D

    Thanks to all!

If you want to depend on this new system, I would recommend against it (V2).

Just order it with two HDD though - so that you can be 100% sure that you'll have the connections and the wiring ready to drop in a more dependable SSD in the next few months.

    Good luck.

Thanks, i thought that a 7200rpm drive would do just fine, but never "taste" a SSD so dont know hot it "feels" like, so, wait a litlle price drop for now :D

    The 'taste' is addictive. :)

Having just completed an install to an SSD and HDD combo in a notebook system, it is pretty easy to get used to that kind of responsiveness.

The following link is what I scoured to get the optimal setup in this two HDD bay scenario:

    See:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/win...gramdata-folder-separate-drive-partition.html

With the users folder moved to the mechanical HDD, the system is used as optimally as currently possible: the mostly read only O/S and program data is read from the SSD and the frequently modified/edited data files are on the HDD. Both the programs and the data can be read concurrently and best of all - it's all seamless.

Best of luck with your new system. :)

Intel 510 250GB would have been my choice - but client put in an OCZ SF2 128GB drive which I used just 60GB of (left the rest unformatted). The HDD was the WD Scorpio Black 750GB model.
