Sorry if this is a repeated question, but i tried to search 4 it but cudnt find an answer..
Is it possible to use the power adapter of a lenovo laptop for example on a toshiba laptop?
If yes, what properties of the adapter should be in common so it wud be safe to use it on the other brand.
Thanks in advance

voltage, amps/watts, the connector, and the polarity of the connector must match.

i know the voltage, amps/ watts are values written on the adapter.
what do u mean by "connector",is it the jack that goes in the laptop?
And what's the polarity? is it a value written on the adapter too? -
Polarity refers to the negative and positive portions of an electrical circuit. Just like a car battery which has a positive (power) and a negative (ground). I wouldn't worry much about polarity though. As long as it's a barrel connector (which most laptops use), then negative will always be the outer lip of the cylinder and the positive terminal will be in the middle of the barrel. What's important though is the physical diameter of the connector.

Being an engineer i should know that lol, but i wanted to make sure it wasn't something strictly "computer-related"
Thanks 4 ur helprep +

For polarity(In the connector) look at the diagram at this link:
