I am trying to decide between a laptop that will do a little gaming, or one that will just be for school work.

How much battery life would I end up losing by choosing an X1300 over the GMA950?

FYI: I am considering the HP NC6400.

if you game on the battery, probably up to about 50 percent. if you don't game on the battery, probably about 10-20 percent.

HP has a quite a few with Nvidia 6150 GPU's, that may be a decent compromise for you. You get similar battery life from an integrated GPU, but will perform better than GMA 950 (not as good as a x1300 though).
