Is your HDD one of the few which is 1/2" (12.5mm) thick? Most are 3/8" (9.5mm) thick.

Or are you saying that the connector is the wrong type?

    Please clarify.

That Fujitsu MHV2160BT in the third comment is one of the 1/2" thick drives. There are few enclosures which accommodate these. However, since I have a 2.5" Icy Box enclosure which is 12mm thick and holds a standard 9.5mm high HDD then it is reasonable to expect that a 15mm thick enclosure could hold a 12.5mm thick HDD. That Vanta enclosure does look quite thick in the photos.

What is the model number of your HDD which won't fit?

That Seagate HDD is a 9.5mm high HDD so it should fit. They don't make 2.5" HDDs any thinner.

Are you slotting it in correctly? Does it sit on a board or just have a connector on the end? Does it go part way in? Are there any screws (fixing the HDD to a board) which get in the way? Try without them.

I have the same enclosure with a 2.5" Seagate 5400.3 160GB Momentus drive and it fits fine. Are you sure you screwed down the drive properly? Make sure you're using the flat top screws that come with the enclosure otherwise it will not fit properly. And don't try to overtighten the screws as the screw heads tend to strip easily.

Well I feel so dumb right now

it turns out that I did get the correct enclosure
and it did fit in perfectly

it just that before I didn't unscrew and remove
the metal that was protecting the hard drive

that why it couldn't fit in the enclosure

I was wondering why I had extra screws that came
with my enclosure and now I know

Well thanks chemistry & John Ratsey for your help

you really help me figured it out
