Well, I have the plugged in and not charging. Tried to fix through the device manager, nothing. Tried anyother charger nothing.

What's worse is that my laptop is fairly new (little over a month old), and the charger plug on the back of the laptop seems to move a bit, causing the charger to not be detected half the time, and it switches to battery mode. I read it might be a soldering problem....

Considering the fact it's new, I still have a warranty, but I already have a crapton of things on here.

I need advice from the almighty Notebookreview forum! What do I need to do to fix it?

EDIT: It's a Clevo B7130 or something like that. Got it off cyberpower.

Is it the MSI in your signature? If it is, you may have to RMA it to MSI.

    No, it's a clevo.
I'm afraid to RMA my MSI. Screen is basically fallen off, and I voided the warranty, but that is not the topic at hand.

Strange update: Power level went from 75% to 83% while not charging...
Again Update: Power level continues to rise....what is going on....

Is it Vista/7? I've seen sometimes Windows will show it's not charging the battery but it still does charge.

What should I do about the port in back?
The thing likes to stay in, but windows won't pick it up...

Yea double posting is bad, but I really need help.
Is it in fact an issue that I need to RMA, considering my charger hardly works, even if plugged in?

Try running a Linux Live CD and see if it reports charging.

If you think there is a hardware problem I would always RMA the device. Especially since it is only a months old and it is causing you trouble.

My guess is that the connection is made but not 100% stable and lost sometimes. Do you have an indicator light showing if it is plugged in or not? Windows is a bit slow to detect changes in the power status. So if you have a flaky connection it might show that you are never plugged in even though half the time it is charging.

The constant change is not good for your battery or other power related electronics so I would RMA.

Sometimes the LED's are off or just plain defective. Alot of HP/Compaq laptops will do that.

Okay well the LED could be defective. I would RMA it to Dell.

    It's not a dell.
    It doesn't have a light period -_-
I might have a local guy fix it.
    I hate dealing with warranties.
