I left my laptop on the floor by accident. And during the night I stepped on it by mistake. I ordered a new 15.4" 1440x900 WXGA+ (exact same one I had only this one isn't glossy) for my inspiron 1520. I installed it and everything is hooked up.

When I power up my laptop it shows the vista status bar, but then the screen goes black where vista should be starting up. Also the picture is split into two identical pictures, one on top of the other, and squashed so that the both show the entire desktop.

I can enter safe mode, albeit with the two squashed pictures, but I can't start my laptop normally. I was using an external monitor for awhile and thought maybe it was defaulting back to the other one, but hitting fn+f8 is doing nothing.

Any clue as to what's what? I don't know if the new monitor is bad or what. It's just a display and it can produce a display so I'm thinging it's not the monitor... I need help.
