I can't seem to get my webcam to change to mirror mode, (as now it does the exact opposite of everything i do) in skype or any other program besides asus lifeframe. Also the quality is not that good for a 2.0 mp camera, it's got lots of lag and I can't change any settings. Would someone be able to help me with this. Cheers!

I don't know about the mirror mode problem, but the quality and lag is typical for your notebook.

Have you tried re-installing the drivers? Are there any newer drivers (for all your hardware components - BIOS, video, sound, etc.) that you can install?

Do you have at least 2GB RAM (4GB preferable)?

    What O/S are you running?

Did you try to change to mirror mode and back - between reboots? (It may be simply returning to it's 'defaults').

    Good luck.

Yeah I would follow what tiller said. Make sure you aren't multi-tasking when during Webcam stuff as it will completely lock up your computer. Webcams are very memory intensive.

I've tried reinstalling the drivers a few times. But that didn't work. I'll check to make sure the other drivers are up to date. I do have 4gb of ram, running Win7 and it's a Core i7 so it should be able to take a lot. Even if the webcam is the only program running it still acts the same way.
I guess that's just the way it is then. Tx for your help with this guys. Cheers!

Well RAM shouldn't be an issue. Problem is they sell 299 machines with 2 GB of RAM and webcam and people are like why does it lag?

You went to ASUS website? Did you also try reinstalling the software, not the driver for the webcam. Sometimes that software gets corrupt. The last time you might have to do is just reimage your machine, sometimes laptops ship out with a bad image.

I believe to reimage from your recovery partition (if it isn't hosed) is Ctrl + F11 or Ctrl + F10. Warning before it will wipe out everything so make sure your data is backed up. This should be a last attempt to fix software issues. Did you tried the official software from ASUS?
