Upgrading the CPU will void your warranty. If you want better performance, I would upgrade the hard drive to a faster one and put in more memory. Good Luck.

It is difficult to upgrade the processors in Acers anyway, and as posted, it voids your warranty.

A 7200RPM hard drive would do more than anything for you.

Some more RAM would really help you too.

If you are going 7200RPM, I like the Hitachi TravelStars 7k's. They come in 60, 80, and 100GB versions.

In a 5400RPM drive, Western Digital Scorpio's cannot be beat.

I have contacted acer before about upgrading the cpu. It only voids your warrenty if damage is caused by you fitting it, or opening the case, You can void your warrenty by upgrading the ram if you do something wrong
