A friend of mine is looking for a new laptop. Could someone give me a fair comparison as to which of these processors is better all things considered and the rest of the specs are the same?

AMD V Series for Notebook PCs V140

    VS

    Intel Pentium Dual-Core Mobile P6200

I'd greatly appreciate it. They had a notebook with the AMD processor but overall usage felt very slow to them. Even doing Windows updates, browsing the web, and watching short videos (ie newsclips from CNN, MSNBC etc) seemed to stutter.

One core in the AMD vs. two faster cores in the Intel. Go with P6200 all the way.

    According to Passmark:

    AMD V140: 678

    Intel P6200: 1671

The P6200 has a faster clock speed, and it has twice the cores.
