Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
Core 2 Duo T9600 2800 6144 1066
Core 2 Extreme X7900 2800 4096 800
Core 2 Extreme X9000 2800 6144 800
There are two Core 2 Extreme chips at 2.8GHz. One, the X7900, is a last-gen chip based on a 65nm process with only 4MB of L2 cache. The other, the X9000, is a 45nm part with 6MB of L2 cache. Both chips have unlocked multipliers which the T9600 does not have. Other than the unlocked multipler, the only difference between the T9600 and the X9000 is the faster FSB on the X9000.
AFAIK, there is no mobile Core 2 Quad or quad-core Core 2 Extreme clocked at 2.8GHz.
For most purposes, the T9600 should be sufficiently powerful. -

What is the unlocked multipliers ? Whats the advantage of it?
So Core2Extreme has 2 cores like Core2Duo? -

Unlocked multipliers... basically it means you can more easily overclock the processor if your BIOS allows for such a feat. It is irrelevant and gives no advantage at all on almost all notebooks.
There is, at the moment, only one Core 2 Extreme that has four cores. This is the 2.533GHz QX9300. -
