I currently have a dv4t with a p8700 clocked at 2.53. i was thinking of switching to an HDX16t, but instead upgrading to only a p7350 clocked at 2.13.
does it really matter? i could upgrade to p7550 for $50, but i read another thread saying it is not worth it?
thanks, talking to a rep now, so i quick response would be awsome!!![]()

Naw, the p7350 will be fine, as long as you don't do encoding and editing a lot.
-
it will be for video editing, word processing, programming, occasional audio editing, web design, and some gaming. of course surfing
-
What is wrong with your current laptop though? Sounds up to date since you have a p8700? -
yes it is actually. just 2 weeks old. to be honest, i think the build quality is some crap..
so i am going to try out the hdx. (i read that it is pretty sturdy) -
What laptop is it you currently own?
-
davepermen Notebook Nobel Laureate
if you want sturdy, you might consider the business side of things? elitebooks are really sturdy.. no clue about the gpu's (for gaming), but otherwise, nice looking, well performing laptops with high build quality.

Thats not too bad, maybe sweet talk the Rep or whomever, but I really dont know if I would invest in a 3 year warranty, if I was purchasing a laptop again the most I know it would be lasting would be maybe 2 years, hopefully longer, but is the 2 year cheap enough to maybe bring it closer to $1200.
-
so by getting a p7450 i would not see a difference from the p8700?
-
They are all going to be relatively the same.
-
thanks.
that said, is it even worth it to upgrade to p7450 or should i just go with the p6600
$50 difference. i hear the t series clocks very slightly faster, but lacks in battery life -
Also just thought I would direct you to this thread, Cin always posts these crazy deals so you should take advantage of it.
-
are you selling the dv4? if so you could always switch cpus.
if you are comfortable that is.
are you a student? if so register for the hp acedemic purchase program.
i configured the same lappy and the 3 yrs waranty for 1221.96 -
i could i guess, it combines with student discount?
cool. what do you mean by "switch cpus"? like a trade?
i am getting the hdx for 1170, same price as the dv4 -
im blown...the deal just died (coupon expired)
