Ok, guys I have a 1.6 Celeron M and there are a few games I'd like to play and my vid card just really won't allow it.

    I have an ati x200m. (128 shared I can go to 256).

My question is how do I find out if my processor in my laptop is upgradeable and how do I know which processor will fit.

Second question. Does Intel have a 64bit processor? Will it help where my vid card fails?

The celeron is a budget processor that is not designed for gaming and the ATI x200 is an integrated GPU. Bearing that in mind it no surprise you are having trouble with gaming.

The celeron M can be upgraded to the highest speed Pentium M supporting a 400MHz FSB. The 533MHz FSB Pentium M's will not work in your laptop. Look for Pentium M's with a 5 at the end of the model number e.g. 735, 745 etc. These will have the 400Mhz FSB. Be warned this will negate any warranty you have for the laptop if you do upgrade the processor.

Intel does have a 64 bit processor in the works but its not due out till August and will likely not be in laptops till around September time. Unfortuneatly few things can make up for a rubbish GPU for gaming. When it comes to games the GPU in the most important thing and if it the weakest link then your are stuck.

Possible go arounds are incresing the amount of RAM you have to 2GB and upgrading your hard drive to one with 7200RPM speed. Also, you could just buy another laptop lol...

You need a new notebook man. Graphics cards are the main thing in any game and you cant upgrade yours.

ATI x200 seems to be very slow. Nowaday, all the new laptop on the market focus on x1600 and nvida 7600 and up and at least 256MB video memory. Only replace a whole gear can make a big difference.
