I'm considering replacing the proc since I love my tc1100 and there doesnt seem to be anything else like it under $800. I'm currently running a 1Ghz Pentium M ULV(dont know if its a Dothan or Banias)

I was wondering if the extra heat produced from say a 1.6Ghz LV (778) will be enough to cause my system to over heat. My system atm stays pretty cool unless it's charging. Another concern I had was whether or not the mobo can handle the extra power draw from the LV chip(I assume it can but better safe than sorry). Otherwise I will probably stick with the safe choice of slapping on a 1.3Ghz ULV(773) chip which for sure wont add that much heat.

And yes I'm aware that the battery life with be decreased but im ok with that. I can always underclock the proc if I need extra runtime.

It's a ULV chip. It's 99 percent certain to be soldered to the motherboard. It's 99 percent certain that you can't replace it. If you can be sure that it's a socketed chip, then we're talking.

On a side note, I've been looking into pick up a used TC1100 from ebay in the coming months. I think its the sickest tablet to have come out since the TransNote. How is the battery life under typical browsing use?

damn...That makes sense as to why I cant find any ULV or LV chips on eBay...Oh well...not like it was gonna make that much of a difference anyway...just wanted to play around. The graphics card wouldve been my real bottleneck anyway...

As for the batterylife. I installed Vista because the handwriting recognition is way better than on XP. But in balance mode i get around 2 hours with WiFi and Bluetooth on and the Backlight at full brightness. I just bought mine used so Im sure it would depend on the condition of your battery. If you can get a hold of one that isnt worn down im sure you can push it to 3hrs easliy especially if you throttle down the cpu and dim the screen.
