I want to know which processors are compatible for upgrading my Toshiba A135 S7404 Laptop.
Processor and Chipset2
Intel® Celeron® M Processor 530 1.73GHz, 1MB L2, 533MHz FSB
Mobile Intel® 943GML Express Chipset
I know from specs that 2 gbs is the top limit of Ram for this laptop, but is there any chance that could take 4 gbs?
I consider this possible since I did it with my Toshiba L305 S5955, I changed its Intel® Celeron® Processor 900 2.20GHz, for a Core 2 Duo T7300. I got that info from forums like this one.

On the RAM, no, unfortunately the chipset will support 3.5gb max.
On the CPU, actually it depends on the socket type, but it is most likely socket M.
In this case, you can upgrade to any t5*00 series core 2 duo and the t7200, t7400 and t7600. HOWEVER in my experience its better to stick to a 32 bit Core Duo like the T2450.
I upgraded my dv1600 to a core 2 duo and a 64 bit OS. The fan would run at top speed all the time, and also there were many important drivers like audio drivers which would not install. -
Thousand thanks for your answer. I still have a few doubts.
Regarding the ram, saying it will support only 3.5 gbs, means I could put 4 gbs and detect only 3.5 gbs or I should only put 3.5 gbs?
You say I can upgrade to any t5*00 series core 2 duo and the t7200, t7400 and t7600 but its better to stick to a 32 bit Core Duo like the T2450.
What could be wrong if I upgrade for example, to a t7200? -

You can put 4 GB in, but because of the chipset, you'll only be able to use 3.5 of it.
The processor should be upgradable to any of those, provided it's not soldered on to the motherboard. -

Yeah, there are just a few laptops like my dv1600 that support core duo but not core 2 duo fully
