i was wondering if there is a huge difference between a 2.1 GHz and a 2.0 GHz processor speed, both are core 2 duo. and so is the same thing with a 3 gb ram and a 2 gb ram? thanks

You will not be able to perceive a difference in speed between the two CPU's. But I could tell which one is faster if you wanna know? RAM depends what you are doing, people who use Vista say yes.

Indeed. The Ram will make a much bigger difference.

3Gb of memory is pretty much the sweet spot for Vista.

As others have mentioned, you are not going to notice any real speed difference.
I am guessing that you are comparing the T7300 and the T8100.
If so, they are both very powerful processors, and you will not notice much of a difference. However, the T8100 will run cooler cause it uses a 45nm process, instead of 65nm.

If the two processors are of the same core flavor, you will not notice the difference between 2.0GHz and 2.1GHz. If you're comparing a 2.0GHz Pentium Dual-Core and a 2.1GHz Penryn you might start notcing a pretty hefty difference...

But likewise, that is an extreme scenario, most of the time, a 2GB to 3GB memory upgrade will be a more significant upgrade.

Is there a mobile Pentium Dual Core @2Ghz on Intel's spec finder page only see 1.83?
