    Hello,
I have a question here on a barebones system
I have been looking at the MSI 1035: http://www.msicomputer.com/NB/product_spec.asp?model=MS-1035
I lik it for the savings I am going to get ad the opportunity to build my own
But I have to choose a processor...
    It says it: Supports Intel® Pentium® M processor (Dothan) 1.60GHz ~ 2.26GHz & Intel® Celeron® M processor 1.20GHz ~ 1.60GHz
i did some looking around and found that the Yonah (Dual-Core) uses the same Socket...
I just got a new Dual-Core Processor for my desktop (AMD athlon 64 X2 4400+) and am already seeing positive results from that
Because of this it has made me want to get a Dual-Core in a New Laptop that I buy/ make
I was just wondering if i could put the Yonah into that or would there be power issues or would it just not work at all??
If it won't work for any reason could you suggest to me a processor that is supprted by the laptop and will give me the best performance?
Thanks for any helpbecause i don't know much about Laptop processors (However Desktop Processors are a different story)
Thanks In Advance for any Sage advice,
    -TBird

The sockets are not the same. I think same number of pins different arrangement. AND anyway each is supported by a different chipset.

I have a picture, lemme dig it out

    Thanks for that info.
Newegg displays them as using the same socket so idk   ...
Well since that is cleared up
Do you have a suggestion as to which one I should get that is supported by the mobo?
I don't care about battery life or budget but I want the greatest performance that this lappy mobo will support!
    Thanks In Advance,
    -TBird

Source tomshardware in article: click here

"Despite identical pin counts, Dothan and Yonah are not pin-compatible."
