    Processor upgrade Dell E1705

    I have a dell E1705 with a core 2 duo running at 2.0 ghz i think intel makes a 2.2 core 2 duo can anyone confirm that and if so does anybody know where i can buy one.

    Yes and NewEgg, but since you have to ask that why not tell us which Core 2 you have so we can make sure you get the correct one. They make same speeds for different sockets you must purchase the correct one.

    But keep in mind, that laptop/chipset only supports a 667MHz FSB. You wont be able to run a 2.2ghz processor (800mhz FSB).
    EDIT: Well, if your BIOS supports it (unlikely) and it's the same package, I suppose theoretically it would run, albeit at 667Mhz FSB, but then there would be no point in that.

    He probably has a T7200, and wants to upgrade to a T7400 or T7600

    If you do not know what processor you have, download and run a copy of cpu-z, and it will tell you what processor is in your notebook

    Socket M, are you ready? These things are expensive compared to a T8300, the T7400 Merom 2.16GHz 4M shared L2 Cache Socket M 34W Dual-Core Processor $430 :eek:
