Hey all,
So I'm waiting for my new PC to come in. It was absolutely essential for me to get the Blu-Ray player, but I started to think of something.
Is it possible to remove the ODD and put it into an enclosure? And then use it as an external Blu-Ray player with my PC whenever needed?

Yes, it certainly is. You'll want something like this.

Great! How would I make sure that it would work with my Optical Drive?

You'll know for sure once you're machine arrives, but it's most likely going to be a 12.5mm SATA blu ray drive. ANY SATA CD/DVD enclosure for 12.5mm drives will work.
The one posted above is plastic. I had one. It was nice, but I prefer the sturdy feel of an aluminum enclosure, which I can't find any using a quick search right now. -

Thanks for the replies!
Could anyone find a better or comparable enclosure?
