Just wondering what makes each dual-core card good/bad.

Core Duo is a better processor. It has better battery life as well as performance, at least number-crunching ability. The downside is the price (AMD tends to sell proc a little cheaper than Intel) The x2 will offer 64 bit computing ability which the Core Duo does not have.

However if you are looking for a new laptop, consider the Core 2 Duo. It is better than both the x2 and Core Duo.

the core duo and core 2 duos are better then the x2.....But pros and cons about either??? Well I say none. Both are beefy CPUs and can handel alot. I have never used an x2 in a laptop before, but my 1.6 core duo is absolutely amazing. Does everything I throw at it (heavy multitasking, gaming for hours, etc...) with great aplomb; and although I cant truely vouch for it Im sure the X2 will do the same.

Not any type of expert, but I never had any problem multitasking using AMD Turion 64 X2.(1.6 Ghz) And I multitask hard. and me having 2gb ram doesn't hurt either :) NO PROBLEMS HERE.

I never messed with dual core intel before so I can't speak on it.
