Thank you, That was some info I was already aware of though, but still, thanx for the response. The thing is, theres no official page out there that talks about it, Intel doesnt even mention it, no where gives any info on it, like becnhmarks, and comparisons.

That's sad, it's like Intel's step-child chip or something. It's being shown no love...I wonder why.

They won't/shouldn't work in the notebooks coming with only dual-core support. The QCs have a totally difference pin-out, and might need a different socket....

2 Dies. And it might need a better, beefed-up heatsink.

do you mean that they will not fit i the current sockets? cause if you do, BMW got his to fit in the socket in the 7811, there was just no QC BIOS support.

They will fit, since the pin-package is exactly the same. The electrical pin-out is different. It is mentioned in the QX9300/Q9100 datasheet.
I believe stock DC heatsinks will have trouble covering those huge dies.

yes i dont see that working, it would be nice though....

im having heat problems with mine as it is, cooling two separate dies would be death..

Wow, thats what the quad cores look like :D

It reminds me of the first quad core from Intel, i think it was the q6850 or something like that.
I wonder if furture quad cores will have a monolithic die instead of two smacked together on one PCB.

It's in intel's "to do" list to release four cores in one diet just like AMD :). When? I can't remember but I think it will be when they will add an integrated memory contoller to their CPUs.
