There seems some uncertainty as to if ALL Montevina based notebooks/barebones can support quad core (and btw, none of those barebones from that link are based on the Montevina platform and probably will not work). However, the only barebone that I know that has been verified and shown to work with the QX9300 is the OCZ Whitebook a.k.a the Arima/Flextronics W840DI. Dark Smiley Systems, RK Computers and XoticPC currently offer the barebone chassis:

The new Dell precision uses it, its a beastly machine, and can cost upwards of $5000, but it will beat out anything any other manufacturer has to offer.

The QX9300 has only appeared in a few High end gaming notebooks so far. You are going to have to wait a bit for other major manufacturers to start introducing new notebooks with this processor for availability to improve. Plus prices for any notebook with this processor is going to break the bank right now.

Does anybody know if the QX9300 is compatible with the Clevo M860TU?

Not compatible.

Thanks ichime..

It depends on the BIOS also. The bios must have the microcode support for that processor. Even if you have a montevina laptop that will support it, the laptop may not be able to keep the 45W processor cool enough so you may have overheating issues.
