I recently bought a Toshiba Qosmio X500-14H, and updated the BIOS as Tempro said. Unfortunately it failed. After searching the net for days I tried the Crisis Recovery Disk method which didn't work. I downloaded the latest BIOS update from Toshiba (v2.9) which is too large (2mb) to fit on a floppy.
I would really appreciate any help, I'm desperate, I have all my work database on it, and paid a lot for it.. I really need my Qosmio back.. :'(

Can't help with the failed BIOS, but can't you just remove the HDD and copy your database onto a working computer for now?

    Good luck.

Of course I can but what about the hardware? It is still brand new, I can't leave it just like that... And the problem is that I live in Congo (for now), so finding a qualified technician is like.. impossible...

I'd be worried (first) about getting your data off of it, then shipping it back (under warranty - brand new, right?) to get it fixed properly (however long it takes).

Sorry, but as nobody else has offered any suggestions almost a day later - I think this is the best you can do.

    Good luck.

    Floppy? In 2011? :D

Can`t you flash BIOS from USB or a CD?
