System:
Lenovo T61p 14" (4:3 version)
GPU: 128MB Quadro FX 570M
I have a good deal of hardware experience and am interested in flashing the bios of my Quadro FX 570m with the firmware for a GeForce 8600m GT. As many know these cards have the same G84 core.
Before I take the plunge I am interested if anyone out there has some suggestions. Will I need to find a 128mb 8600m GT bios ? or does the memory not matter when flashing the bios.
Another question: will flashing the bios void my lenovo warranty. Can they tell that you have been messing with the bios if you send it in for warranty repair?
Feel free to persuade or dissuade me if you have some insight.

Can you just use the drivers for the 8600m GT like the ones from Laptoptogo or does that require a firmware flash?
I had a T61P 15" and I heard of people doing this to try and get better gaming performance, but I never tried it myself. -

Thanks for the posts guys. But I am trying to flash the firmware because I am looking for all OS's to recognize my gpu as an 8600m GT. I currently run linux so speaking of "drivers" is really only useful for Windows OS.
The Quadro 570m firmware is not recognized / supported in the distro of Linux I am using but the 8600m GT is, and so I would like to perform a bios swap.
Anyone have information on making a Quadro a Geforce at the bios/firmware level? -
Has anyone had experience with this?

Guess not?

Didn't work so well for us, but you might have better results.
Here is a good place to get the vBIOS:
