I am choosing between few laptops , their difference is about having CPU speed T7200 , T7400 and T 7600 with not that much of difference in money , my question is how important it is to have faster speed , i use my laptop mostly for business applications and watching dvds

I doubt you'd notice the difference between the T7200 and the T7600. But if the difference in price is negligible, it would make sense to go with the fastest processor.

Normally it's a difference of $200+ between the T7200 and the T7600 last I checked. Chances are you wouldn't even be able to max out the T7200. Most people overestimate how much processing power they need and never fully utilize what they have.

If the price is less than $150 between a T7200 and T7600, which probably means your company has some sort of deal with the manufacturer, then go for the T7600 just because it's an incredible deal. You'll probably never use all of that processing power, but you will notice a difference in some processor intensive apps. I know CPU intensive games like Oblivion love high end processors, and if you ever play CounterStrike: Source with 32 bots you'll be glad you got a T7xxx Core 2 Duo.

Only gotta say the more Mhz the better.

but you're only using business application or watching dvds, which you can even get full performance even when using speedstep at lowest setting. if the price difference is alot, I'd still prefer go with the cheapest ones as more savings can be used to spend on accessories or upgrades like rams or hard drive.
