    I am gonna try this soon once my new Liquid Ultra arrives but I have a question, after I remove the lid of the CPU, how much LCU do I need to put on the actual CPU? Would it have any thermal paste on it from the factory or just pupt LCU right away?

    Do I need to cover it completely the same way as I would cover the actual/entire CPU?

    @Mr. Fox

    Oh one more question, after removing the IHS, how to remove the glue? I don't think a cotton swap with alcohol would do the job would it? I saw in a video that they advice not to use anything sharp otherwise you might damage the CPU

    I just remembered I have Arti Clean (they come in 2 bottles, 1 and 2), is that stuff safe to apply on the PCB then scrape it off with a credit card?

    Correct me if I am wrong, but I think you just leave the glue on. That stuff is not going to be easy to clean off.

    I cant think of a reason to remove them either.

    And yes, there will be some stock paste between the die and IHS. You will have to remove those and replace with CLU.

    I am not sure, in all the videos I've watched, they removed the glue although I am doubting why to remove it in the first place....

    I guess you remove it? I dont think its a huge deal, just dont try to scrap all of it off with a razer or something.
