    hey,

i bought a HP NC6400 notebook. it comes with a dvd-rom drive and i want to replace it by a dvd(double layer) burner. i thought any slimline drive would fit, but as it turned out i was wrong.

so, my first problem is that i don't know how to replace it (can't get it out there) and the second problem i have is which burner i can use (beside original hp ones).

might be some pretty silly questions. but i'd appreciate it if someone could help.

    thanx.

I think you'd get better help if you posted this question on the cdfreaks forums. The people there know the model numbers and devices intimately.

    Hey Orson,

Other than your dvd rom issue do you like the NC6400? I'm particularly interested in how the screen looks. I ordered a Dell D620 and am sending it back because the screen is pretty awful.
