    Hello NBR! :)
I'm currently buying in parts to my DV2000 laptop.

But I've got one question, the orginal LCD of my laptop is WXGA,1280 X 800 14.1". Basicly one of this http://cgi.ebay.com/HP-Pavilion-DV2...EN-GLOSSY-/140336586184?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0

But, will this work insted? 14.1"LCD SCREEN HP Compaq 6930p WXGA+ 1440x900 CCFL NEW - eBay (item 160446859197 end time Aug-18-10 02:37:20 PDT)

I want higher RESOLUTION, but in last link it says that it must match. Does it realy matter? (The other stuff match)

And what do you think about this upgrade?

It will likely work fine. Was 1440x900 ever an option on your laptop? I know with my Dells, the screens have all been interchangeable between different models of the same size. The only difference is the ribbon cable, but that is easy enough to swap. The ribbon cables can be delicate and taped down pretty well.

I also have a hunch, but no concrete evidence, that screens are for the most part interchangeable between brands. There are a handful of laptop LCD screen manufacturers that all the laptop manufacturers source from, and in the Dells I have taken apart, there is no brand consistency with the screens. That would lead me to believe that it may be possible to swap a 15.6" screen from my Dell into my friend's Compaq, and vice-versa, as long as the screens are physically swappable.

There really isn't a whole lot of info to go on, but they are probably compatible. Ask about a return policy. It may be worth a shot.

The item is located at China, what do you think about that?

    I don't think so.
I have looked at the HP Pavilion DV2000 14.1" WXGA LAPTOP LCD SCREEN GLOSSY the price is higher then 1440x900. Is this because the other one is from China?

It will work if the connectors and backlights are the same. Screens are pretty standard, even though they don't tell you that.

There are only a limited amount of manufacturers of these screens, and they are probably all fabricated in China or around there anyway. If an OEM like Dell doesn't seem to care where their screens came from you probably shouldn't either.

Just be careful with these aftermarket LCDs. I just ordered one myself and it is faulty so now I have to deal with return shipping to NY then waiting for the replacement. That is gonna be enough aggravation by itself but I cannot imagine if the guy I got mine from was in China and I had to wait for all that to happen, you would be talking months.

Just something to think about though I'm sure I happened to get one bad monitor out of a few thousand good ones lol.

    I See.

Guess what? I've just found out that my ThinkPad is running on a 14.1" screen. I'll try this on my HP tomorrow. And yes, it is 1440x900 and in excellent condition. I earlier swapped out the T7500 from my ThinkPad and changed it with HP's T7250. There is not much clock diffrence, but the 7500 is 4MB and 7250 2MB. And yes, I see a lot of slowdowns on my ThinkPad after this. My ThinkPad is also running on a SSD drive, so the CPU clearly a bottleneck.
