Hello,
I am going to order a Lenovo T61 ThinkPad. I noticed it comes with a NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M (128MB).
I really do not plan on gaming on my laptop, BUT, if I could get a good graphics card, I wouldn't have to upgrade my desktop and could play games on my laptop.
I was wondering if it is possible to stick an 8700M into a thinkpad, without any modifications?
Again, it is not a big deal at all, I am asking more out of curiosity than anything. This laptop will mainly be used for research and work.
thanks for any input!

The video card isn't upgradeable, the best you can get is the T61p with the Quadro FX 570M, which is the 8600M GT GDDR3.

I realize you can't upgrade it on their site, I would have to do it myself (if that is even possible).
How well can the 570M handle games? -
As well as the 8600M GT GDDR3 when you install geforce drivers on it...

I realize that, but I don't know how well that can handle games.
My desktop has 2 SLI 6800 Ultra's (I know its out of date, I am waiting for the new Intel cpu's to come out to build a new system).
How will the 8600M compare to dual (or single if that is easier to compare) 6800s -

Create a thread in the Gaming section and and people who have the 8600M GT GDDR3 will tell you how well they play games on it...
And you could ask about certain games as well...
