I am considering upgrade of hdd from a 5k rev 80gig Fujitsu Sata150 to a
7k rev Seagate 200gig sata300 for my HP Pavillion 9000 series. The form factor between the 2 looks the same except that that the plug connections on the Seagate have the 15pins, the 7pins, plus an extra 4 pins at the end which are not on the Fujitsu.
Am I correct in assuming that this will be a direct replacement and I do not need these 4 extra pins.

    Thank you

You don't need the extra 4pins on the end. That is for setting 1.5Gb/3.0Gb operation. Default is 3.0Gb.
