    Question about charging laptop battery

    Has anyone run across where their laptop battery (regardless of new or used - I have both and the problem is the same with either) where the notebook sees the battery and says it's charging it, but the percentage of charge in the battery never goes up? Laptop works fine with or without the battery when plugged in, but just can't seem to charge the battery.

    Wikipedia had an article explaining certain characteristic of laptop lithium batteries and I read that overtime the mechanism for gauging the battery meter would be off. The solution, if this was your case, is to keep the laptop on until it completely drains the battery to 0% followed by a full recharge. So maybe you can try that.
