Hi, I know this might be a stupid question but I cloned my spinning hard disk to a Samsung 830 256gb from a sata II hard drive. I was wondering the interface on the samsung will still be sata III after cloning with Ubuntu dd?

    Thanks

The interface type is defined by the hardware. Not what type of interface you clone from. As long as the interface your SATA III drive is connected to is also SATA III and the correct drivers are installed, you should be operating at SATA III.
