I was trying to upgrade my laptop and ordered ram off of amazon. I wanted the crucial 8gb ddr3 SODIMM, my laptop currently has 2 sticks of ct102464bf160b.c16.
Amazon sent 2 different sticks:
ct102464bf160b.c16
and a
ct102464bf160b.m16
I did a little bit of google'ing, seems like the m16's are a bit older and apparently around half the cost of the c16. Since they didn't match I asked for a replacement from amazon and got a third type:
ct102464bf160b.y16f
I can't find any info on the y16f. Should I bother trying to get a matching c16, or should I just stick in one of the 2 that I have?
Thanks for the help.
I guess I should add, the stats are all the same on all sticks. 8gb DDR3 1600 SODIMM 1.35V

I can't imagine why they'd be half the cost or why there'd be any difference in performance. I think you're being a little obsessive and OCD. Just plug them in and use them.

PassMark - Crucial Technology CT102464BF160B.M16 8GB - Price performance comparison
I used that site as a reference, is it inaccurate? -
I would say it's not real accurate. You don't know what CAS timing they used or system or anything. And the pricing, not sure where that comes from. And you can't buy RAM specifying the digits after the ".", the part number is CT102464BF160B, the numbers after the "." are likely some minor revision level that no retailer would even know or care about.

I see, thanks for the info. It just bugged me a little bit because I had 3 sticks matching.
