Are mxm graphics card interchangable with all other cards as long as there the same generation? (e.2.0, 3.0)
so for example I have a m980nu clevo with sli 3.0 mxm that currently has a gtx 280m. now if they bring out a gtx 300m with mxm 3.0 ,say, could I install it and would it work?
Any help appreciated.

Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
Theoretically, yes. However, the system BIOS would still need to support the new architecture.
-
Can you not flash it?
-
You can but it is up to your system builder to decide whether they want to support a new video card in a BIOS update or not.
-
Oh that's brilliant, probs not then :/ how do find find out what is supported?

We'll tell you when the top tier 300 series cards are released for the system.
-
If you're just looking for which cards are currently supported by the m980nu BIOS, you might try just emailing Clevo or one of the Clevo resellers.

The M980NU BIOS as of now only has support for the G92 architecture.
