    As long as the E1405 supports PC2-4200, I can't imagine it having a problem.

    You could buy 1- 1gb stick for almost the same price at newegg.com . I'm a bit hesistant to say yes/no on if that will work with your system - dell is normally good about listing the compatible systems on the memory modules.

    Trust me I know and I would have gone newegg but I have a coupon that'll take $50 of the price of this, making it like $15.
